In this first offering for Victoria of this workshop we bring together spiritual/historical knowledge, plant, mantra and healing tradition.
The Khadira is a sacred plant of the Vedas, Ayurvedic healing, and Buddhist Pali and Tibetan traditions. Said in ancient texts to give strength, it is associated with a number of important goddesses, and other spiritual figures. As the basis various Ayurvedic preparations, its efficacy in treating a range of illnesses has been demonstrated by modern medicine. As an Acacia tree (synon. vachellia) it links to various important world traditions, and was known by the Ancient Greeks.
In this afternoon-evening workshop, participants will learn mantras, and receive a sample of Khadira tea of verified high quality, sourced from the Himalayas. Additionally to treating certain illnesses, it serves as a general system fortifier, meditation aid, and promoter of clarity. As well as live song, we will hear archives of rare
In the first half of the session we will learn about the historical and spiritual traditional knowledge of the plant, and associated deities & mantras. We will look at Brahmanical and tantric Buddhist practises, and the correct practises of utilising mantra for healing. Through this we touch on important principles relating to consciousness, yoga and various paths. The second part of the session is mantra focused, to facilitate synergistic meditation with the plant, and song healing. The workshop will allow space for questions and interaction, and learning of and participation in mantra.
Beyond the workshop, we will also offer online mantra and song sessions, and Khadira samples, for participants to continue and build on their practices and healing. Participation in the workshop is required to attend or receive these.
