OUR STORY

Hi! We are Josh and Narelle, and these are our kids Oliver, Willow, and Frankie.

The kids have grown a few years since this photo but the vision has remain unchanged: How can we foster in the next generation of environmental stewards, starting with our family?

Before we had kids, we lived a VERY different life to the one we now live on the farm.

  • Jetsetting between New York and LA and working with A-list celebs and brands, Josh directed tv commercials and Narelle was a model. (Josh was also an artist and long time meditator, and Narelle was a yoga teacher and and doula.)

But after becoming parents, our whole world shifted.

We wanted to raise our kids in a conscious way, in alignment with our values of healthy living and environmentalism.

Our old ways of being— having our own little suburban home and living in the isolation of the nuclear family, while working our asses off in industries that were a values clash with everything we believed in to pay for it all— no longer made any sense…

We understood it “takes a village” to raise a child, but where was that village? and where were the elders we could learn from?

We had three young children, and the isolation and depletion was setting in…

We dreamed of finding land with our dear friends and raising our kids together in community. But in never happened.

So in 2020 we took a leap.

We packed a shipping container and moved to Australia in the height of the Pandemic.

We bought an off-grid meditation center on 20 acres of land with the dream of relearning a new way of living and being in right relationship with mother nature, together with our children.

We called this dream The Revillaging Project.

The land had living water, solar power, an area we could farm, and a large wetland we could restore and protect.

There was a large studio where we could hold community events and yoga classes, a space where we could create a small learning space for children, and a small manger’s quarters where we could experiment with tiny living with our own family.

We didn’t know anything about anything. And we didn’t have any friends in Australia. But we did it anyways!

We wanted to truly live our values and raise wild and resilient children.

We wanted to feel alive and connected with nature and our children, and we wanted to open a space that could inspire others to do the same.

And with hope and prayers, we started a new life, a new business, a new everything.

Since then we’ve made countless mistakes, lots of progress, and learned a lot about a lot of things!

    - we’ve turned a degraded paddock into a biodynamic farm

    - developed a deep relationship and partnership with local Indigenous elders and organizations

    - raised money and planning permits for our massive wetlands regeneration project (creating a nature sanctuary out of half of the property)

    - learned about off grid living— ps its no joke

    - learned how to live in a very small home with 3 children — ps also no joke!

    - thrown seasonal festivals and countless community events on the farm

    - opened a community membership program

    - held space for home school and school holiday programs

-held team building events for a number of aligned business including B-Corp AUS/NZ.

    - and laid the plans for an eco-tourism “profit for purpose” business that will support all the community and wetlands work we wish to do.

Everything is always evolving, and with the spirit of iteration and working with this land, in Jan 2026 we decided to change our name from Revillaging to Waves Farm. The philosphy of Revillaging with its “7 Generation Mindset” lives on in the DNA of Waves Farm, and you can expect to see a continued dedication to building a deep village of support here.

We can’t wait to welcome you to the farm soon!
