Event description

When women gather together, something magical occurs. We heal a little more, and from this, so does the World. Our first Retreat in collaboration together, RESTORE Women’s Day Retreat is an initiative to inspire authentic, self-accountability, for our sisters to see their true worth, beauty, power, to find soulful friendships and replenish together. Sisters, women, mothers, girls, when we discover the immense power of coming together, and supporting one another, we are unstoppable in our divine feminine.

In many indigenous cultures, it is reaffirmed that women who have a close female tribe stay healthier, are happier as they age, and are four times more likely to survive disease. The Restore Women’s Day Retreat is an in-person authentic connection experience that plants the seed of intention around themes which are most relevant for us.

A beautiful collaboration between Wellness Practitioners Claudia Elkin, Tarlina Pethiyagoda and Djulz Chambers, where we will take you on a journey of restoring your mind, body and spirit on Sunday 9th July 2023 from 11:30 - 7:00pm. Explore the perfect way to take some time out for yourself, to move through sacred modalities, come to your practice, gain deeper connections with self and a room filled with inspiring women, and leave feeling whole.

We start at the beautiful @peninsulahotsprings followed into a day of Yoga, Pilates nourishing food, breathwork, sister circles and unstructured creative dance to live djembe drumming at the stunning @the_revillaging_project ✨

MEET THE FACILITATORS:

Claudia Elkin

Claudia is a Yoga, Mindset and Wellness Coach who aims to help you develop a deeper connection with your inner self and who you are. With a strong focus on technique throughout her practices, she encourages you to find alignment in both your body and your life off the mat so you can let go of everything that isn't uplifting you and embrace what truly nourishes your soul. You'll leave her presence feeling rejuvenated, motivated and empowered and ready to step into your highest self.

 Tarlina Pethiyagoda

Tarlina was introduced to Yoga through meditation when she was 5. Whilst travelling, studying and teaching Yoga it was her time in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka which prompted a true open-heartedness to the richness of the cultural traditions, and its depth beyond the practise on the mat. Her movement studies are influenced by Dance, Yoga, Mat Pilates, and Reformer collectively as she’s witnessed the power to heal, feel empowered and transform through them. She is passionate Facilitator in creating spaces for self growth, and loves to meet her community no matter their stage of exploration to dive deeper into uncovering more of their potential.

Djulz Jade Chambers

Djulz has been playing West African percussion since 2000, but her true initiation into its art and inseparable cultural traditions began in 2006, when she undertook a journey to the central West African nations of Burkina Faso and Mali. Over three years, she studied with griot artists through the Sahel and Sub-Saharan regions and was the recipient of traditional knowledge that is the foundation for her playing and teachings today.

From this genesis, Djulz’s passion has led her to collaborate in recording and performance projects with musicians including Paul Isaac (Hawaii), Woven Talon (New Mexico), Chris Berry (New Mexico), Sparrow (Australia), Ganga Giri (Australia) and Adam Rankin (Australia). She has also had the privilege of teaching traditional West African drumming throughout Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Hawaii and the Northern United States. She creates environments where people can explore their unique rhythm and creativity within the primordial essence of the ensemble music that was taught to Djulz from her teachers throughout West Africa.
