Community Tree Planting Day

Join Uncle Lionel of Living Culture and The Revillaging Project Team as we gather together for a smoking ceremony and Indigenous Tree Planting

Made possible by The Mornington Peninsula Shire’s Climate Action Grant, this will be a day of connection to nature, regeneration, and community.

The schedule for the day:

  • 9:30am - 9:45am: Arrival, and to set up your spot on the grass ahead of the day starting.

  • 10am: Smoking Ceremony, Acknowledgement of Country, and pre-planting talk by Uncle Lionel. Learn about Indigenous plants and ground into the spirit of intention and connection to nature before you plant.

  • 10:30am - 1pm: Hands on tree planting for adults and their capable children. Natural craft/play area for younger children and their carers.

  • 1pm: Community connection over lunch - BYO food and drinks, and anything you’ll need.

  • 3pm: Event ends.

*Please plan to arrive by 9:45am at the latest, the day will kick off right at 10am.

What to bring with you:

  • Any outdoor chairs, picnic rugs, blankets and cushions, or anything that will make you comfortable to sit outside on the grass, or for walking around the Farm, for our different activities;

  • Gardening gloves to help plant the trees;

  • Clothing to keep you warm, including closed toe shoes, and wet weather gear if needed;

  • Water, food and snacks that you know will support you and your family throughout the day; and,

  • Anything else you think would be nourishing for you.

This event is free for all, but please register to let us know you are coming - there are only a certain number of places that we can accommodate.
